Ashland Contemporary Theatre
Ashland Contemporary Theatre, Ashland's community theatre, was founded in 1991. The company's mission is to foster the writing talents of local and regional playwrights through our readings series of short plays, called "Moonlighting," and through full productions and staged readings of longer works. ACT's play selection aims to balance the work of the Rogue Valley's emerging authors with award-winning plays of the last few decades, and the latest in noteworthy contemporary writers' cutting edge look at society.
Directed by Producing Artistic Director and actress, Jeannine Grizzard, and Associate Artistic Director, Evalyn Hansen, ACT offers "a great place to play" for some of the area's finest avocational talent. Emphasizing creative inclusion and high artistic standards, ACT cultivates an infectious enthusiasm among participants that transfers to the audience, for an evening of fresh and thought-provoking entertainment.
